This role combines engineering expertise with operational and regulatory consulting, focusing primarily on utility management and environmental concerns. While the consultant typically does not oversee staff or systems directly, there may be exceptional circumstances where their involvement is essential to ensure a safe and secure environment. Your responsibilities involve staying well-informed about all existing and upcoming environmental regulations and guidelines. You will support facilities in understanding and complying with these regulatory requirements, activities, and updates. Regular communication with environmental regulatory agencies will be essential, and you will also be tasked with preparing various reports and permit applications as mandated by environmental policies and procedures. Additionally, this position is crucial to the department's continuity of the government relocation team. In emergencies that require the temporary transfer of critical functions from the central office to a field site, the consultant will work closely with the relocation team. They will carry out tasks assigned by the team leader to facilitate a smooth transition and maintain continued operational effectiveness.
