Archaeological Field Staff – Multiple Positions

NTM Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineering and environmental services firm that specializes in water resources design and permitting, environmental services, bridge and roadway design and bridge inspection, and engineering instruction for public and private sector clients. Established in 2006, NTM employs over 100 professionals and has four offices, including Dillsburg, State College, Philadelphia, and Wayne, Pennsylvania. Description of Work:

NTM Engineering is seeking experienced staff to fill several immediate openings for Archaeological Field Technicians for several archaeological investigations throughout Pennsylvania.

Job requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and demonstrated experience in both historic and prehistoric archaeology. Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate experience working in the Mid-Atlantic region. Pennsylvania experience is preferred but not required.

The hourly wage range is based on position responsibilities and previous experience. Lodging and meal per diem will be provided during the scheduled work period. The positions have the potential to become full-time with benefits positions based on experience and performance.

Minimum Training and Experience Required: 

Minimum position requirements include:

• Successful completion of an archaeological field school and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field.
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand or kneel for long periods of time, hiking in rugged terrain, and lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. without restriction.
• The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions and be able to work under supervision and as part of a team.
